THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

a work in progress

I'm an aspiring entrepreneur and creative working across business, music, art, and writing. I'm interested in ideas, human potential and what it takes to turn a vision into reality. This website is where I'm bringing those interests together, documenting my work and figuring out what I can contribute to the world. But to explain where I'm going, it helps to explain a little about where I've been.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Take responsibility for becoming the person who can bring your vision to life, and use what you build to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

I grew up in Ladbroke Grove, West London, surrounded by the culture and energy of Notting Hill Carnival. Music has always been a big part of my life. I grew up listening to hip-hop artists like Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Eminem, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar and Pro Era, while the influence of reggae has stayed with me. Today, hip-hop is the music I create.

Alongside music, I became fascinated by questions about life, identity and human potential. Listening to people like Ram Dass, Alan Watts and Jordan Peterson encouraged me to think more deeply about who I was, who I wanted to become and what I really wanted to do with my life.

Experiences with psychedelics, heartbreak and periods of looking inward pushed me to question my direction. I began to feel that If I  wanted to do more with my life I'd have to do something pretty drastic. I wanted to be a communication expert.

The difficult years  My journey hasn't been straightforward. Living with neurodivergence, psychosis and a mood disorder has shaped my experience of the world, and I struggled to find my place among my peers. I left school without a clear direction, and over time, my difficulties became entangled with drug addiction and serious mental health challenges. There were periods when I lost my way. Addiction took me away from the person I wanted to become, and my mental health made the path forward difficult to see. Recovery groups became an important source of support, connection and hope during those years. My relationship with recovery hasn't always been linear. There have been periods of sobriety and periods of using, and I've had to confront difficult truths about myself and the life I was living. But those experiences have also given me a deeper appreciation for the work of recovery, the importance of personal responsibility and the value of having people around you who understand. I'm now clean, and I'm beginning this next chapter with a clearer sense of direction. What I'm building now Over the years, I've collected ideas, ambitions and projects that reflect the kind of life I want to create. I want to build businesses, make music, write, study philosophy and develop a better understanding of myself and the world. I also want to explore how these pursuits can amount to something more than personal achievement: how the things I learn, create and build might eventually be useful to other people. I don't have everything figured out. I'm at the beginning of this process, working out what deserves my attention, developing the skills I need and learning how to turn ideas into real things. There will be mistakes, setbacks and changes of direction along the way. Rather than waiting until I've achieved some finished version of success, I want to document the process as it happens: the work, the lessons, the doubts, the progress and the things I discover along the way. The bigger picture Ultimately, I want to build a life shaped by creativity, integrity, discipline, learning and contribution. I want to become someone who follows through on his intentions, develops his abilities and uses what he builds to make a positive difference. This website is the starting point: a place for my work, my ideas and the journey that connects them. I'm still working out exactly where it will lead. But I'm clean, I'm moving forward, and I'm ready to find out what I can make of it. This is the beginning.
